VSC is focused on supporting the community with trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based approaches, and expressive art therapy.

Job Description:

I am seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counseling Apprentice to support me as I develop and expand my solo practice, specifically in providing therapeutic art. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in the field of counseling, mental health support, and business management. As an apprentice, you will work closely with me in my practice of counseling and partner in important projects I’d like to launch. Working for Videri Counseling Services is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring counseling student with hopes of running their own practice in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops, support groups, and community outreach events

  • Provide administrative support

  • Develop marketing strategy for a small counseling practice

  • Assist conducting intake assessments and client evaluations

  • Participate in individual and group counseling sessions under supervision

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation

  • Collaborate with supervisor in developing and implementing treatment plans

  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed

  • Attend supervision meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field

  • Completed coursework in counseling theories, techniques, and ethics

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards clients

  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

  • Reliable and able to work independently

  • Willingness to learn and adapt

Additional Information:

This is a 12-month paid internship with a 6-month evaluation. Paid compensation is provided when working on administrative tasks and project development. Shadow hours and supervision provided is unpaid. Rachel Burns, LCMHC will provide supervision and mentorship to support your professional growth and development.
